    Training of high-level scientists

    With the support of the Wellcome Trust (UK) in collaboration with the Accelerating Excellence in Science in Africa (AESA) Initiative, MARCAD is a partnership between five African institutions: UCAD in Senegal; MRTC in Mali; RCM in The Gambia; BTC in Cameroon; UHAS in Ghana.
  • Malaria Research

    The Malaria Research Capacity Development (MARCAD) in West and Central Africa offers a new PhD and Postdoctoral research program in the areas of elimination and strengthening of malaria control interventions.

    Capacity Building

    The objective is to strengthen the quality of research on malaria by training African scientists who will be the future leaders in research, able to take on the new challenges of the fight against malaria aimed at its elimination.
  • Phd and postdoctoral

    Five PhD-level scholarships are awarded for four-year Master's and ten postdoctoral fellowships for PhD holders, with a duration of three years. The purse covers.

    The MARCAD scholarship is

    Living expenses for the duration of studies; Registration fees for PhDs; 6 months for postdoctoral fellows or 3 months for PhD from a partner European university; Research costs of € 55,000 for the PhD or € 83,000 for postdoctoral fellowships.
