As a member of the project management team of the Malaria Research Capacity Development in West and Central Africa (MARCAD) project funded by the Welcome Trust through the DELTAS (2015-2020) program. Dr Ndiaye is coordinating the training programme of the MARCAD.

Dr Magatte Ndiaye is an Associate Professor of Parasitology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD) and Principal Investigator of the potential impact of seasonal malaria chemoprevention on drug resistance and immunity development. Dr Ndiaye completed a PhD in 2013 and a postdoctoral fellowship in 2016 in a sandwich programme at the UCAD /University of Copenhagen/Denmark funded by Malaria Capacity Development Consortium through the Welcome Trust. In 2015, Dr Ndiaye was also the Co-investigator sub-granted on the Development of Non -invasive Malaria Parasite DNA Sampling Strategy for Surveillance in Resource Limited Settings in Senegal, a project funded by Grand Challenges Canada. In 2016, Dr Ndiaye was the PI of a project to strengthen the research capacity of young African scientists markers funded by the TDR/WHO through the Impact Grand Scheme. Since 2016, Dr Ndiaye has been the Scientific Coordinator of the West African Regional office of the World Wide Antimalarial Drug Resistance Network (WWARN). He has been the Chair of the Senegalese National Young Academy of Sciences since 2016. From 2017-October 2020 Dr Ndiaye is deputy Lead of Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) work package of the WANETAM 2 program Funded by the EDTCP. Currently, Dr Ndiaye is leading the Molecular Biology Unit and has more than 38 per review publications.
